Mit der Veröffentlichung von ICS stellt sich nun die spannende Frage für welche Geräte Updates veröffentlicht werden und wie lange man sich da Zeit lässt:

Our goal for Android updates is to give every customer an improved user experience, which means balancing each phone’s unique hardware, HTC Sense experience and the Android kernel. Also ehrlich gesagt ein ziemlich generisches Standard-Statement das trotz seiner Länge wirklich wenige Informationen bietet. Man wird sich wohl erst etwas Arbeit machen müssen um HTC Sense an Ice Cream Sandwich anzupassen. Dürfte aber zumindest ein großes Interesse haben die aktuellen Top-Modelle schnell zu updaten. Fraglich ist, ob man nicht einige Zeit brauchen wird um das Update bereitzustellen und viele Geräte erst Anfang 2012 aktualisiert werden. [via Engadget]

Von Google kommt ein interessantes Statement:

Currently in the process for releasing Ice Cream Sandwich for Nexus S. Theoretically should work for any 2.3 device.

Man arbeitet also bereits daran Ice Cream Sandwich für das Nexus S zu veröffentlichen. Es dürfte vermutlich als erstes in den Genuss des Updates kommen. Zu möglichen Updateplänen für das Nexus One gibt es allerdings noch keinen Plan seitens Google. In jedem Fall sollten laut Google aber alle Geräte mit Android 2.3 Gingerbread auch mit Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich laufen. [via Engadget]
