Samsung Galaxy S3 laut Oled Association mit 4,6 Zoll Super AMOLED HD Plus-Display und 319 ppi

Es ist eine der Meldungen die ich nicht so wirklich einordnen kann, aber immerhin wird das Samsung Galaxy S3 genannt. Die Oled Association hat in einer News unter dem Titel “Samsung Mobile Display Reaches New Levels of Profitability and Introduces the YOUM Brand for Flexible Displays” einen Absatz zum Display des S3:

SMD is planning to release a 4.6” Super AMOLED HD Plus with the 319 ppi for the Galaxy S3 Super AMOLED plus in May of this year. In addition, SMD is expected to add phosphorescent green, which will reduce power consumption and make the OLED display competitive with the retina display at white levels of 40%, while significantly outperforming LCDs for images and video. The Apple iPhone 5 should be released about the same time as the Galaxy S3. Both of the new phones should have comparable size and pixel density so a true comparison can be made.

Demnach soll das Samsung Galaxy S3 also mit einem 4,6 Zoll großem Super AMOLED HD Plus-Display ausgestattet sein und im Mai auf den Markt kommen. Es kommt immerhin auf 319 ppi. Immerhin ist die Samsung Display-Sparte Mitglied in dieser Vereinigung. Ich bin mir allerdigns doch recht unsicher, ob es sich bei dieser Aussage nicht mehr um eine Vermutung als um wirkliches Wissen handelt. Weshalb ich sie auch gestern erst einmal nicht gebracht habe. Am Ende handelt es sich aber zumindest um eine in den Daten durchaus realistische Erwartung für das Display. Und die Oled Association wohl eine im Kern seriöse Organisation. Abwarten …

Eher unwahrscheinlich erscheint mir die Angabe, dass das S3 und iPhone 5 ungefähr zur selben Zeit auf den Markt kommen würden. Das iPhone 5 dürfte im Laufe des Herbst auf den Markt kommen. Ich kann mir nicht so ganz vorstellen das Samsung sich noch so lange Zeit lässt. Da müsste man sich schon bewußt dazu entscheiden, beim S3 mit Apple auf direkten Konfrontationskurs zu gehen.[via Android Community]
